About Me
Hello, my name is Mafalda, I am 35 years old.
Thank you for being here and for taking the time to get to know me a little better!
I was born in the Algarve, and at 17, I moved to Lisbon to pursue my studies in photography. My journey began in 2006 at Escola António Arroio, and later, I completed a degree in Sound and Image at ESAD in Caldas da Rainha, graduating in 2012. In 2013, I had the opportunity to study abroad through the ERASMUS program at BIAD in Birmingham.
Between 2014 and 2016, I lived in London, where I worked as a media curator for a startup. This experience expanded my perspective on visual communication and digital media, reinforcing my ability to create impactful and engaging imagery. In 2016, I returned to Portugal.
In 2020, I started collaborating with Observador, covering street reports, events, and portraits. This work has given me the opportunity to document real moments with authenticity and connect with people through photography.
In 2021, I specialized in interior photography, which became a major focus of my work. I worked as an in-house photographer for two real estate agencies, where I was responsible for shaping their visual identity and producing high-quality images to enhance their properties. This experience greatly developed my skills in capturing spaces with precision and artistic sensitivity.
At the same time, as a freelancer, I have been collaborainge with professionals across the audiovisual industry and artists from various fields, including visual arts, DJs, musicians, and actors. These collaborations have allowed me to explore different creative processes and expand my artistic vision.
Over the years, I have worked on a variety of projects, from artistic photography to commercial assignments, always with a strong connection to visual arts, electronic music, and video. I currently divide my time between real estate photography, editorial work, and personal projects, always seeking new ways to evolve and express my vision.
If you’d like to collaborate or have any questions, feel free to reach out. I’d love to hear from you!
